Shaylynn Ryan is an emerging multi-genre indie author who grew up in Oklahoma and never really left — not in spirit, anyway. She lives in a rural corner of the state with her husband, two kids, and three cats who have strong opinions about her writing schedule.

In her free time, she reads, writes, and works. Somewhere in that overlap — between the quiet of country living and the restless hum of stories demanding to be told — Under the Influence was born.

Her debut novel dropped in the spring of 2026, a dual-POV dark romance set against the fog-lit chaos of a haunted attraction. It was the first word, not the last. By summer, she'd have a paranormal mystery on shelves — one built around a photograph that shouldn't be able to do what it does. By fall, something darker still.

Shaylynn doesn't write to a formula. She writes the stories that won't leave her alone until she gets them out. That means dark romance in one breath, spine-crawling paranormal in the next, and Halloween horror ready to land the moment October rolls around.

Multi-genre isn't a limitation. For Shaylynn, it's the whole point.
